We’re pleased to offer a wonderful sale of antiques, art and decorative items from three generations of the Livaudais-Walshe Family as well as property from the estate of local preservationist, John Geiser III, who passed away in July.
Aurora Dugue Livaudais, Eileen Avis Walshe and Eileen Joan Fehr were three generations of lifelong New Orleanians with a deep connection to the history of Louisiana and were privileged to maintain membership in the Society of the Founders of the City of New Orleans. The Livaudais’s owned rural and urban plots, including Livaudais Plantation, later Faubourg Livaudais, currently known as the Irish Channel. Learn more about the Livaudais-Walsh family history in the story published by New Orleans Auction Galleries in their July 2021 catalogue: https://issuu.com/noauction/docs/july_24-25_estates_auction
John Geiser III served on the first board of the Preservation Resource Center and was actively involved in the PRC’s work since the 1970’s. Geiser also served as president of the Louisiana Landmarks Society, Save Our Cemeteries and the Garden District Association. He also served as an officer of the Friends of the Cabildo, the Orleans Parish Landmarks Commission and the organization that runs the Beauregard-Keyes House.
