Description & Details

ST. CHARLES AVENUE @ NEWCOMB BLVD. MANSION - PART 1

We’re thrilled to present an estate sale in the magnificent home of Sybil Calhoun at the corner of St. Charles Avenue and Newcomb Blvd. Three generations of the Calhoun family have lived in this 1917 mansion since the early 1930’s. The home is a time capsule with treasures in every corner! We’ve worked continuously on this sale since December and we’re excited to finally open the doors! Please take time to study the photos and our list of extensive highlights.

Join us for this special estate sale (the first of two sales) on March 23-24, Saturday, 9am-4pm and Sunday, 10am-3pm (discount day).

We will offer a second sale in April that will include items not offered in the first sale, including an impressive selection of estate jewelry, nice selection of sterling silver, collectibles and valuables, large collection of china (the kitchen and butlers pantry are both packed full), additional bedrooms and dressing rooms (all full), the third floor, and a very large basement, which is completely packed full, and of course anything unsold from the first sale. Keep and eye out for the second sale later in April.

Numbers will be passed out at 7am sharp Saturday only. You may arrive as early as you prefer, but numbers are passed out at 7am for crowd control. You do not need a number to attend our sales, but those who choose to get a number will be admitted numerically. Sale opens at 9am from the St. Charles Avenue entrance. Expect limited entry when we first open. As customers leave, we will let more inside and we will do our best to let customers in as quickly as possible.

Main entry to the sale is from the St. Charles Avenue side – entry only. Checkout and holding area will be in the driveway accessible through the Newcomb Blvd. facing foyer – exit only.

Holding tags for a long time is unacceptable. Only pull string tags for item(s) you are certain to purchase and bring to checkout immediately, otherwise risk the item(s) being re-tagged or sold. Do not peel off yellow stickers. If you can carry an item, you must carry it. We will have holding tables next to checkout.

Please do not remove artwork from the walls – ask for assistance.

We will not provide moving assistance for large and heavy items. Please be prepared to make moving arrangements for these items. We have a list of recommended movers posted at checkout.

Please do not block neighbor’s driveways. We recommend parking on St. Charles.

As standard, Saturday is priced as marked and Sunday is discount day – expect a lot of mark-down prices. You must come to the sale on Sunday to see what items are discounted and marked. We do not hold items.

Most importantly, have fun! There’s something for everyone at this sale and the house is worth coming to see!
