Calling all home renovators, DIY's, contractors and decorators!

Extraordinary Garden District mansion, once owned by Anne Rice and later home to Nicholas Cage, has been recently sold and the new owners are liquidating the entire contents of the home before they start their historic renovations. All chandeliers, light fixtures and sconces are for sale along with a fabulous European stained glass window that was installed by Nicolas Cage. The new homeowners have also included in this sale a complete set of custom-built kitchen cabinets from another property – brand new and never used! 

The double parlors are staged with modern and contemporary home furnishings from the owner’s previous homes, quality electronics and some renovation project material, such as pocket doors, kitchen counter tops and an antique Carrera marble mantel brought in from another property. Also, the four matching mantels in the double parlors are for sale (see bottom of ad for more info).

• Five matching Venetian crystal chandeliers in the first floor double parlors and foyer – four matching sizes and one slightly larger. The four matching chandeliers in the double parlors measure 88 inches in height and the single chandelier in the foyer measures 92 inches in height. Classic Chandelier says these can be minimally altered to better fit a space by removing a small section/layer at the top - something to consider if they are slightly too large for your space.

 PROCEDURES ON REMOVAL FROM PROPERTY

CHANDELIERS

Classic Chandelier & Mirror LLC in New Orleans will be responsible for removal of the five chandeliers in the first floor double parlors.* 

Payment: A 25% deposit of the purchase price will be required upfront during the estate sale (paid to Big Easy Estate Sales) with the balance required upon removal from the property. A $600 fee will be required for each chandelier and must be paid directly to Classic Chandelier after removal from the property. A receipt will be provided to the purchaser at the estate sale that will include all of these details. Unsold chandeliers from this sale will be sold at auction. 

The $600 removal fee for Classic Chandelier ONLY includes removal from the property. The purchaser is responsible for transportation and installation, if preferred. If you are potentially interested in purchasing one the five chandeliers, we recommend contacting Classic Chandelier in advance to obtain a quote for transportation and installation. They are familiar with the property. 

*Only Classic Chandelier & Mirror will be responsible for removal of the chandeliers from the property. This is non-optional. Purchasers may not remove the chandeliers themselves or hire their own help.

OTHER CHANDELIERS & FIXTURES

Many of the chandeliers and light fixtures have already been disconnected and are ready to go. The chandeliers on the second floor should not be a problem to disconnect and remove during the estate sale. If preferred, Classic Chandelier may remove and transport any chandelier in the home. If not, be prepared to wrap and transport these fixtures once disconnected and removed from the ceiling.

STAINED GLASS WINDOW

Removal of the stained glass window will be coordinated between the purchaser and the homeowners and their contractors after the estate sale. The homeowners have expressed that they will be responsible for removal of the window from the home using their own contractors. An additional removal fee will be required. Classic Chandelier & Mirror has quoted $2,150 to remove the window from the home, but may not be utilized to remove. Timing is flexible and the logistics will be ironed out as we learn more. Check back for updates in this area.

KITCHEN CABINETS

The kitchen cabinets were custom-built by Classic Cupboards in Harahan less than one year ago at a cost of $70,000 and were never used. The kitchen cabinets were delivered from another property and are not currently built in. Post estate sale removal arrangements may be made at the time of purchase. Payment: Full payment is required during the estate sale. A receipt will be provided to the purchaser at the estate sale that will include removal details.

BATH CABINETS

The master bathroom cabinets have been uninstalled and are ready to go. Post estate sale removal arrangements may be made at the time of purchase. The purchaser will be responsible for wrapping and providing their own moving assistance.

MANTELS

The four mantels in the first floor double parlors are available for purchase. Interested buyers may leave their contact information at the checkout table to be provided to the homeowners. We will not sell these mantels during the estate sale. Arrangements may be made directly with the homeowners on price and removal. Please note: the mirrors above the mantels are not for sale.
