Description & Details
GARDEN DISTRICT ESTATE SALE
We’re thrilled to present an estate sale April 1-2 in the historic Goldsmith-Godchaux mansion on Jackson Avenue. Dr. Alan Sheen and his wife Joan have preserved, celebrated and treasured this stunning property for 48 years. Their meticulous contribution to the home through the decades can been seen and felt in every corner of this 12,000 square foot mansion. The house and the Sheen’s are just another gem in the crown of New Orleans.
The estate sale includes generations of accumulated furnishings and decorative arts from both families dating back to the early 19th c. Alan and Joan, like their ancestors before them, have always had a knack for collecting antiques and objets d’art, particularly fitting for their historic Jackson Avenue home. Their collections were acquired from local antiques shops, Northeastern auctions houses, and of course, their European travels.
The estate sale spans the entire first floor – upstairs and outdoor areas will be blocked off. Check back during the week for additional photos and information. The Sheen’s are adding more to the sale this week!
Be sure to read through the Terms & Conditions on how our sales work. We look forward to seeing our regulars and more this weekend in the Garden District! -JW
