Welcome to Back Bay Magnificence - a home that's as aesthetically pleasing as it's contents - featuring towering ceilings, equipt for tons of art, a newly renovated kitchen, with modern and classic tableware, and rooms to inspire, decorated by some of the areas top designers.
Towering ceilings, tall enough to bestow a hefty art collection!
Featured artists include:
Bruce Crane, an important American artist, he was at his best and most typical in simply designed views of the russet and gray fields of late autumn or early winter like Russet Autumn Woods.
Might you prefer a river landscape in the spring? We have one of those too.
Our favorite of the collection is Valley of the Genesee, NY, Oil on Canvas, by Lemuel Maynard Wiles (American, 1826-1905). A noted landscape painter in the realist tradition of the Hudson River School.
Other favorites includes a Valentino Gigi Satchel Handbag With Shoulder Strap
The Cesendello Floor Lamp from Fortuny. This design of Mariano Fortuny's was probably the first electric floor lamp. The Cesendello silhouette, which is a synthesis of Oriental and Renaissance themes, is enhanced by the fabric covered stand and they're still made in Venice, Italy.
AND the pair of Baker Furniture Club Chairs in Chinoiserie Upholstery, to-die-for!
Additional art includes:
Morning Annunciation by Salvador Dali (Spanish, 1904-1989)
Boston Street Scene by Aldryth Ockenga (American, 20th century)
Cottage Scene with Sheep by Michel Korchinsky (French, 1866-1925)
Kaiko Moti, born in 1921 in Bombay, India. His works are pervaded with a dissolving, watery light which subtly emphasize movement, resulting in a highly atmospheric quality unique to his oeuvre.
A newly renovated kitchen with modern and classic tableware.
Featured items include:
Fantastic Bamboo Style Spindle Back Bar Stools with Rush Seats, bamboo is back, big time, don't miss this trend, it's hot!
Pull that stool up to the counter and eat breakfast, lunch and dinner on a Villeroy & Boch whimsical china service in Audun Promenade, Audun Ferme and Audun Chasse,
Rather pull a chair up to this uniquely stylish glass top table with a hexagram iron base and have tea with the Copelands Grosvenor China.
Additional stellar kitchen finds include:
Mackenzie Childs
Stephen Schlanser 'Pacific Ice Bowl' with Chinese Characters
Mikimoto Ribbon Dessert Spoons with Pearl, New in Box
Tiffany and Co Sierra Geometric Shard Crystal Platter
Emile Henry Graduated Mixing Bowls, Set of Three
Additional items include rooms to inspire, decorated by some of the areas top designers.
A master bedroom with heritage rich pieces complemented with abstract art and modern lamps:
These Louis XV-Style Bedside Cabinets with rouge marble top and marquetry inlaid cases are paired to perfection with modern Tree Form Lamps from Wildwood and three Dorothea Van Camp abstracts.
Dorothea Van Camp has lived and worked in Boston's Fort point neighborhood since 1995. A review of her latest show by Cate McQuaid of the Boston Globe, "where the wallpaper patterns become sheer drama."
Additional bedrooms feature a Danish Spindle Platform Bed in Teak, Queen Size, designer bedding from Yves Delorme, Manuel Canovas and tons of accent pillows
Additional finds include gilt in silver and gold, lush upholstery, a library of books about Limoges and the fantastic homes of fantastic designers.
