Some information about the artists;
Pam Valfer received her BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and an MFA in Drawing and Painting from the U of MN. Valfer has previously taught at MCAD, CVA, Metro State University and St. Catherine's University. She has received grants from the Bush Education Fund, the MN State Arts Board and the Vermont Studio Center. Her work has been exhibited in Australia, England, Japan and the United States. She was also included in the EVA International Visual Arts Biennial Fringe Exhibition, Limerick, Ireland in 2012 and the 3rd Minnesota Biennial at the Soap Factory, 2013.
Allen Brewer is a St. Paul born artist and graduate of the College of Visual Art. This fall he begins his MFA in Fine Art at CalArts. He has taught at MCAD and CVA for the last ten years. Additionally, he is an illustrator and fine artist. He is the great great grandson of the MN artist Nicholas R. Brewer (1857-1949) and great nephew of illustrator/artist Edward V. Brewer (1883-1971). Allen Brewer has made commercial illustration for clients such as Target, Washington Post, CNN, Nat. Geo, United Airlines and Rino Records. He has exhibited at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, Burnet Gallery, Soap Factory, Soo Visual Art Center, EVA International Biennial (Ireland), 3rd MN Biennial, La Luz de Jesus (LA) and Chicago Artist Coalition.
Artwork in this sale spans the past 20 years of Brewer's career, ranging from illustration and studies to previously exhibited drawings and paintings.
