Opening in 1956 by former FBI agent & WWII veteran Frank Reilly, The Fireplace Restaurant on Rt.17 North in Paramus, NJ, would eventually grow to become the highway’s most iconic building and eatery. It’s big red sign, brick facade, and many wood burning fireplaces welcomed everyone from proms and football celebrations to birthdays and weekly friend hangouts. This was the place to gather, and for many, The Fireplace was their 2^nd home.

After 65 years of flipping burgers, serving pizzas, and hosting breakfast, The Fireplace Restaurant permanently closed their doors in July of 2021. Since then, the restaurant has mostly remained intact and as it was..…until now!

Remember When Antiques and Estate Sales, LLC is honored to be the sole liquidator and auctioneer representing the entire remaining contents of “New Jersey’s Most Iconic Restaurant”!

An online auction, via icollector.com, will launch early this week and feature everything from the original chandeliers and cast iron railings to food trays and vintage china. This auction promises to be the ultimate event for any past customer or employee looking to take a piece of history home with them. The most popular items up for auction will surely be the original menu board signs but there will be plenty for everyone.

The auction is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, June 21^st with lots closing in the evening on Monday, June 26^th. Items can be picked up directly from The Fireplace Restaurant in Paramus, NJ at 718 Rt.17 North on June 27^th from 5pm to 7pm and June 28^th from 5pm to 7pm. If any dining tables are left, they MAY be available for direct purchase during the 2 pick-up time slots as listed previously. All other items will ONLY be available via online bidding. No direct purchases will be allowed.
