Description & Details
UNFORTUNATELY AS OF 5/22/17 ALL OF THE GIAMPIETRO COLLECTION, GLASS, SCULPTURES AND ART HAVE BEEN PULLED FROM THIS SALE BY THE ESTATE FOR CONSIDERATION AT AUCTION THIS SUMMER/FALL
"This is a remote rural Adirondack house with treasures everywhere. It is the home of the last Isobel Giampietro, famous glassware designer, graphic & plastic artist and sculptor with unique pieces in the Corning Glass Museum and Smithsonian Institution. She was born in Italy, moved to the US as a child and then returned to Europe in the 1950's where she excelled in glass designs. Her lamps, evoke the Guggenheim Museum in profile with an art deco look. Amazing. Her metal sculptures are contemporary modern looks." EVERYTHING ELSE, AND THERE ARE MANY MANY ITEMS ARE AVAILABLE FOR SALE
Isobel's late adopted son Andrew Giampietro Knoll was an eclectic world-wide collector. The house reflects Andy and his mother's taste in 'objects d'art" amplified by his penchant for military paraphernalia books, guns, uniforms, and related do-dads. A wild collection of computers, which he repaired and rural outdoor equipment -- tractor, mower, snow-thrower, compressor, welder, brush hog, log splitter, ATV, Porche 924s tools and manuals to repair all. DVDs, CDs VHS galore round out the menagerie.
