The estate of Maryanne and David COCHRAN.

David Monroe COCHRAN (B. 1925- 2016, LULING TX) WWII At the age of 19 David served as Ensign aboard the USS LSM 427 as the youngest officer aboard.  It's crew were responsible for moving US troops and equipment between the Hawaiian Islands and the Philippines and later in and around Japan. Enthusiasts of militaria will find bomber pilot jackets and souvenirs returned from post-war Japan. Then promoted to the rank of Lieutenant during the Korean War and helping to run the US Naval base in Newfoundland and finally served in the Naval Reserves in Austin and retired with the rank of Commander. He attended Texas A&M and several decades later, in 1971, earned a Master of Science degree in Community and Regional planning at the University of Texas and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil engineering. UT and A&M ephemera abound and the sale has high level surveying and scientific equipment.

Maryanne Caldwell COCHRAN (1924-2016) born in Lockhart and taught junior high and high school English in Luling and Corpus, graduated from the University of Texas in 1946 and earned her Masters in English in 1961, Austin Alumnae Chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha and of Delta Kappa Gamma. Maryann was a saver and as you can see in the photos, the house became a repository for fine things collected from around the world and over generations. A toy room is full of vintage educational toys from Lincoln Logs to Legos,  board games from the earliest monopolies to silver age, dolls for boys and girls in GI Joe, Hot Wheels and children's literature and Encyclopedia Britannica
