Fred Schaffner award winning model ship builder remaining works are up for sale. Fred's ships have been shown in several nautical museums San Francisco, Boston, New York, Navy Pier Chicago, Newport and Ventura CA. Fred's ship have sold at Christie's auction house Los Angeles for thousands of dollars (see pictures for proof of sale at Chistie's). All of Fred's work is handmade. Most models are actual 1700-1800s ships made to scale from scratch with blue prints. All planking, rigging, masting,knotting and painting is hand done from wood cuttings and twine.
