Aah what a rare free weekend can do for the psyche! We celebrated Steve’s birthday in style with tickets our kids got us to Hamilton, stayed overnight at the Hyatt a block away and the wonderful front desk decided to upgrade us to a 3-Room Suite! The Science March was on Sunday, so the City was jam-packed with people, many wearing interesting costumes. Anyway,...

This is a nifty gas grill and unpictured is the pergola covering it - both can be sold - the pergola is bolted into the decking, however it can be removed.

This is the most expensive piece of art in the home. It was done by John Middleton (1827-1856) (He died so young!) The landscape oil was recently appraised at an out the door price of $5,800. His works are found in many museums around the world, including the Yale Center for British Art in New Haven, Connecticut and the Virginia Museum of Fine Art in Richmond. This work was painted either in 1847 or 1849 and shows two people in a canoe, a lake with cows swimming and a mountain background. You will swoon.....

This is a American Indian pot by the Santa Clara Hopi and signed by one of the Tafoyas. Good value there and it even has her business card, plus a very small pot and small animal piece.

This is the informal dining room, and we tried to make it an African theme. I love this room! Great table and chairs would be at home in a sun room, covered porch, or even in a kitchen or great room.

Here is the formal Dining Room - The table opens to a very large space, with 8 chairs (6 side and 2 captain chairs), also a china hutch and a neat slate topped server. There are three glass & brass etageres, and an attractive china set for 12 by Sango of Japan, quite a bit more collectibles on the walls (snuff bottle collection, painted egg and porcelain butterfly collections in their own mini etagere's), interesting things in the china cabinet as well

The living room has an awesome large commissioned oil painting by Rod Guthrie, and there is another smaller Guthrie on the opposite wall, Mid Century Sofa, 4 Chairs, occasional tables that have grown on me, largely because they are so well-crafted, nice lamps, a Petrof console piano that will knock your socks off, a very beautiful nativity set atop the coffee table. Lots more collectibles in this room!

This is a canvas surround, wrought iron outdoor bar. The top needs a spray painting (I think I would do black, but the aqua is cute too), and there's a cover included.
