Joel Feldman, a distinguished artist and educator, hails from Washington D.C., where his early years were spent immersed in the city's rich museum culture. Feldman pursued his academic journey, earning a BFA from The Carnegie Institute of Technology and an MFA from Indiana University. His teaching career spanned various esteemed institutions, including the University of Georgia, Ohio University, and Southern Illinois University, where he became the head of Printmaking. After retiring from SIUC in 2004, Feldman continued to inspire as an Adjunct Professor at the School of Art and Visual Studies in Lexington, Kentucky until the Covid epidemic. Currently, he focuses on woodcut printmaking and pen and ink works, with a significant presence in both the United States and England, and notable exhibitions and teaching engagements in Westport, Ireland. Feldman now enjoys his retirement in Ireland with his wife.
