Circus runs thick in the blood of this downsizing couple. Both affiliated with the circus world during their working years, they remain avid circus fans and have decorated their home with circus memorabilia.
From authentic clown costumes and a clown's stainless steel road trunk (which still bears the original lettering from his Korean War service days), to posters, circus-themed plates and circus-themed Jim Beam decanters and more, there is a wide variety of circus items. Also in this vein is an extensive collection of Playbill magazines dating back to the 1950s.
The other star of the show is a collection of Alberto Vargas lithographs, printed in tiny limited editions from the artist's estate. We also have a few framed Vargas calendar pages and other less expensive Vargas items.
Of course there is classic American furniture, for living room, family room, dining room, sunroom and a wide assortment of multi-purpose pieces. There is china and crystal. There is jewelry. There is some clothing including several beautiful pieces of vintage formal wear.
More photos to come as we get in and start to organize.
