This antique bronze wax seal was used for government documents during the rajah period in India. The handle and cover were later encrusted with natural gemstones to enhance the piece.

The paining is of the period and was restored by Gregory Stepkoff in 1970. At that time he transferred the paining to a fiberglass canvas so it is not necessary to keep it in a room with controlled temperature.
