Description of sale:  Owner has lived here for 40 years – charming house built in 1942 near downtown Kirkland, over 2100 square feet including finished basement, and an enormous detached garage.  (House will be on the market as soon as the estate sale is completed!)

From an Air Force family, he traveled extensively throughout the United States.  He taught school in the Issaquah School District for many years.  Always an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed scuba diving, rafting, hiking, and boating.  Constant passions included traveling and motorcycles; he biked around the United States at least twice on his Honda Goldwing.

He excelled in three main areas:  a great carpenter, he built the porch and stairs at his house and worked as a carpenter in the summers.  He also completely refinished a ski boat for his nephews and nieces when they were in high school.  He loved to cook and was a member of a gourmet cooking club.   Also, he loved to collect handmade glass on his travels.  He became the family "snow bird" and enjoyed collecting pieces from the Southwest.

His house and huge garage reflect the many interests he enjoyed over the last 40 years.  A gregarious man, he made friends everywhere he went.

His pride and joy is his 1972 Honda 450CL Scrambler motorcycle.  He spent two years looking for the parts to restore it as close as possible to its original beauty.  And yes… this will be included in the estate sale.  It is available for pre-sell (and is the only item that may be purchased prior to January 13th).
