We’re having a Rockin’ Estate Sale in North Burien this weekend, Friday, June 19 – Sunday, June 21st. The Star of this house is the Recording Studio that was referred to as The Rec Room, and it is filled with recording gear and equipment. The gentleman of the house worked for Pacific Bell Telephone so you will find some telephone related collectibles and the garage is full of construction tools, plus we have the rest of the contents in the house.
We will be posting our address on this site and sending it to our email family on Thursday the night before the sale at 7:00.
STUDIO: This was a full-on recording studio in the 70’s and 80’s called the Rec Room. Do any of you Burienites remember Burgundy Express, City Su, Tyme, Reunion, Bulldog, Morning Reign? then this is the place where lots of the magic happened! This includes mixers, compressors, speakers, the whole works! Besides the Roland JV-90 Keyboard, and the Roland drum kit with stand and accessories, some mic stands, following is a list of the gear.
Heathkit Solid State Combo Amplifier, Seck multitrack mixer (18), Carver PM-100 Magnetic Power Amp, DigiTech processor, BBE 422A and 862 Sonic maximizer, Symetrix 525 and 528 dual compressor, dbx pb 48, twoTascam PB-32b patch bays, PS systems CD rom drive, AKAI S1000 digital sampler, AKAI 12track recorder, Sony Digital recorder PCM 2500A and 2500B, Tripp Lite Voltage Regulator, Yamaha SPX 90, Lexicon LXP-5, Mackie Channel Mixer, Rane SM82 Stereo Mixer, Alesis D-4 Drum Module, Roland JV-880 synthesizer, KORG Wavestation with card, M1R Music workstation Plus+1 with memory card, Roland linear Synthesizer D-550, Yamaha TG77 tone generator with memory card, two OMS Studio 4 by Opcode, Kawai K4r synthesizer with memory card, rackrider power module, SoundTech PL:85 power amplifier, Soundcraftsman pre-amp equalizer PE2217, Sony Audio Video control center, and Sony and AKAI cassette decks. Plus power cables, midi cables and computer cables and the gear racks.
…..and the Coffin Stage Prop/Drum case came straight from Aberdeen, we think it may have been from the grunge rock band Coffin Break, the stickers on it are well worn but that’s what happens when you rock hard!
ELECTRONICS: There are miscellaneous computer towers, monitors and connectors, Kenwood receiver, Denon Stereo, Harmon Kardon stereo, rock box by Magnavox, and speakers by Polk, Lipsch, Yamaha, a large JBL 2220 speaker, and a single one by Telefunken plus other stereo equipment.
EXERCISE EQUIPMENT: There is a weight resistant Trimax exorcise unit with weights, a Schwinn exorcise bike, a Pace Master treadmill and a rowing machine.
FURNITURE: The Stickley table comes with four chairs, has two pull out leaves and is in very nice condition, WOW! We have a plush couch, another comfy Lazyboy easy chair and a wicker rocking chair. The Duncan Phyfe table includes six chairs and three leaves and is in OK condition. The midcentury coffee table and end table are made by Lane. There is a mid-century bedroom set, some dressers, a small secretary, miscellaneous tables and plant stands.

COLLECTIBLES: Bell Telephone, Supersonic, Seahawks, Mariner’s shirts, bobble head and badges, Tin toys, figurines, knives, pocket knives, rulers and measuring instruments, a great collection of rock records, vintage tools, fishing gear includes polls, reels, flatfish lures, flies, etc.
KITCHEN and CHINA: There are sets of utilitarian dishes, pots, pans and kitchen utensils, as well as very nice sets of china and glass. Most notable is a set of hand painted Hayasi China in almost mint condition and a set of Wayne Old Ivory China, also in almost mint condition.
GARDEN: There is a nice Victorian style cast iron table and two chairs, a hand painted outdoor table with a vintage metal base, garden tools, sprinklers, weed eater and blower/vac.
TOOLS: There is a fantastic array of tools available for all you carpenters out there, both vintage and new. Besides the typical hand tools, there power and pneumatics here including tools by Bosch, Milwaukee, DeWalt, Makita, and Hitachi. There are also Senco nail and staple guns, a wet saw, grinders, drill motors, chop box, a Wagner airless painter, Victor oxy/acetylene welding set, Rockwell 10” table saw, roll-a-round Craftsman tool cabinet, Sanborn 2hp compressor and two large Knaack boxes. We also have telephone equipment tools and climbing gear.
MISC: Two Schwinn Bikes, a Hatteras Hammock, Brightly colored blankets, Wedding ring design quilt, games, barometer, Plymouth mantle clock, Cuckoo Cuckoo clock and some art including a Maxfield Parrish print.

We put a sign-up sheet on the door at that time and people can come by to write their name. Please sign-up only your name. We have a large staff to facilitate the sale and check-out and let as many people in as possible to minimize the line.
