Sale Listing Improvements

The next improvement we made to the site comes again from the city page and the way we display the sale information. Here is an overview of some of the improvements you will see:

1.  You will now be able to see all the dates of the sale, as well as the time for the current date in bold.  We think this might be very helpful for someone who is out and about at a sale.  With a quick glance, they can be provided the information they need.

2.  When a company has posted photos, a preview image of their first photo listed will be provided.  If that company has selected to feature a photo, then that photo will be shown as the preview image.  When a company doesn't have any photos listed, "No img" will be displayed.

3.  Along the same lines, there is now a picture counter that lets the user know exactly how many photos the company has uploaded to that particular sale.  This is very useful to be able to know if new images have been added and how many.

4.  We've updated the look of the icons in this area to improve upon the speed at which the page loads.

5.  Before the changes, you never knew when a sale had last been modified.  Quite often, companies update their information multiple times, but you wouldn't be aware of this without having to check the entire sale listing several times.  Now, you can quickly know what company has updated their listing with new details, saving you valuable time.

Please continue to let us know what you like about the site (and don't like, too). You can give us feedback here on the blog, on Facebook, Twitter, email, or feel free to call and chat.

Hello everyone. Am new to this area of estate sales. Could you please provide some insight as to how this all work. Can I purchase online or do I need to appear at sale personally. Is this an auction process to highest bidder? Any schooling you can provide me or a 1 on 1 would be great. Thank you to all. Lilliana S.

Hi Paul: That's great feedback for companies that use the site, as it is up to them on what is made available in the description. Thanks!

I need to see a description of the item being auctioned. Unless I'm missing something somewhere, there is minimal information (e.g. "Necklace and Bracelet"). Is the item fine or costume? If fine, what material (e.g. 10K gold, 14K gold, sterling silver, etc.)? Bidding on nothing more than picture and a description which only says, "Necklace and Bracelet", is like buying a pig in a poke. Please tell me WHAT IT IS! Thanks!

Hi Garden Girl: I think with the new changes, it will be a lot easier to access! Hi Grant: We're still working on something like that. The hurdle is trying to come up with something that won't be abused. Hi Texas: A couple of weeks after the update, we'll have that available! Hi Dennis: That might be something we look into changing later. Unfortunately, it won't be available with this update.

Hi It would be helpful if there was a place to rate the companies providing the sales, as I have driven 100 miles and first in line just to find out the item pictured was not even at the sale.

Hi there~ I would like to see at a glance which estate sales I'm watching and the notes I've made for my watched sales (it's a little irritating to always have to go to my "watched sales" site!) might you be able to include that in your update? Thanks, and I do enjoy your site!

one thing I would love is to be able to check or mark the sales I want to attend and then just print those sales to take with me

It would also be helpful to see at a glance if the sale accepts credit cards. That way I can see ahead of time if I need to bring cash.
