When they first arrived on the scene, glass insulators had absolutely nothing to do with telegraph or electrical wiring. In fact, their original purpose was to protect residential homes from lighting strikes! As time and technology evolved, they started manufacturing these little guys for telegraph, telephone and electrical wiring purposes. (Think, top of a telephone pole!)
Produced by the Whitall Tatum Company, this gorgeous set of four vintage insulators are each double skirted, aqua and in amazing condition! No breaks or cracks in the glass.
