Sale Background
Hi Everyone! Join us along the shores of North East, for the second part of an incredibly diverse three-part online auction. This particular auction features parts and machinery from the Marx plant, woodworking equipment, general power and household tools and equipment, and much more!
Long retired after spending a career in toy design at Marx Toys, ultimately venturing off with a partner to start his own toy manufacturing company, patenting many toys and keeping many kids and parents happy along the way, Phil collected an assortment of manufacturing and homeowner tools/equipment along the way. Considered a life-long inventor/ tinkerer, and, of course, homeowner, he acquired the DIY mentality as you can tell from the gallery of offerings.
The auction will be hosted at estatesales.net, where you'll be able to bid from the comfort of your own home. If you haven't already done so, you'll need to set-up a simple account at estatesales.net to start bidding. An example of the bidding process can be found below. The pick-up date for winning bidders is slated for Tuesday, September 19th from 10am-5pm. If you are a winning bidder, you'll receive an email at the conclusion of the sale with the exact address and any additional instruction. Good luck and have fun with this online bidding experience. Thanks for looking!
Bidding Process
The online auction bidding is a "hard close" process, similar to Ebay, as opposed to a "soft close" process used by other online auction platforms, which extends the time if there is active bidding towards the end. There is no time extension using this particular platform. The bidding ends when the allotted time for each item expires, which is displayed under each item, Also, entering a maximum "max" bid doesn't necessarily mean you will pay your maximum bid. The system will automatically keep bidding on your behalf against other bidders up to your placed "max" bid for convenience purposes.
-Bidding Example
You are bidding on a lamp and place a max bid of $58.00 towards the end of the auction. The auction ends on the item and you win the item for $39.00. This means the next highest bidder had a high bid of $38.00, however you were willing to go up to $58.00. Your maximum bid doesn’t automatically jump to that amount when you place the bid. The bid only is increased if there are other bidders actively bidding on the item. Your maximum bids are hidden from other bidders, essentially creating a level playing field.
