Very nice Tarkay print of a resting woman in mismatched stockings. Framed behind glass. Measures 28" x 25" in the frame and is 12" x 9" unframed. There appear to be a couple of ripples in the matting. Purchased at Park West Gallery in Southfield, Michigan.
Itzchak Tarkay (1935 – 2012) was an Israeli artist born in Subotica, on the Yugoslav-Hungarian border. His art is is focussed on almost dream images of elegant women in classical scenes which draw you into an imaginary world and his work was influenced by French Impressionism and Post-Impressionism, particularly Matise and Toulouse-Lautrec. His work was exhibited at the International Art Expo in New York in 1986 and 1987. He has been the subject of three books published by Perry Art Gallery and Park West Gallery, his dealers.
