This Back powder rifle was discovered during the Vietnam war and a few were brought back here and sold.
S. E. Asia had varied editions and they were all hand made.
Another name for this rifle is a Hmong or Monkey Sniper Rifle.
It has been given a general wipe down revealing silver overlays of decorations, even the brass wraps have different colored
impressions on them.
The hard mount shows a 18th century Emperor's image to the right of the black material-it is a side profile. His hat is the key.
But, this could have been made late 1700's to early 1800's.
The rifle measures 51" with a 4" handle top to bottom and appears to have had a silver wash down the iron barrel.
The spring action moves slightly but with proper restoration, may work well!
The Chinese are notorious for decorating their property with miniature figures in color-it takes some time to adjust one's ability to see these.
Other stamp marks are quite large on the rifle tabs.
Negotiable.
