This is a hand-painted porcelain plate, approximately 8.75 inches in diameter, featuring a scalloped and gilded rim. The central design is a small, stylized floral motif in red and gold. The border is intricately decorated with a repeating pattern of geometric shapes, floral elements, and what appear to be stylized cartouches, all rendered in a palette of red, blue, green, gold, and black against a white background. The rim is further embellished with a fine gold line. The back of the plate bears a maker's mark that reads "Hand Painted FC Nippon", indicating it was produced in Japan during the period when "Nippon" was used as an export mark (1891-1921). The "FC" likely represents a decorator or a specific decorating studio within the Nippon porcelain manufacturing system.
