An original oil by the famous portrait artist, Sir, Henry Raeburn who
painted an impressive painting of George Washington which hangs in the
National Gallery today.
This measures 24" x 20" with the frame at 30" x 26".
The lower area shows craquelures; the work was relined some time ago.
The ' Gentleman ' contains so many characteristics of George, it stirs-up
the style of his day and even a younger Washington, if you may.
