This is a tin lined, hand crafted copper urn from the Cashmere/Pakistan region. Originally covered in tin (?) to protect the copper (shown in last photo), upon purchase it is dipped or rubbed with an acid to remove outer covering revealing the beautiful copper outer shell. These items are primarily used for dry food storage and this piece measures approximately 26" tall x 26" wide with an 11" opening. Vessel is signed by craftsman and has a slightly rounded bottom. Weight is approximately 32 pounds.
