"Johanna Maria ""Jenny"" Lind was a Swedish opera singer, often called the ""Swedish Nightingale"". One of the most highly regarded singers of the 19th century, she performed in soprano roles in opera in Sweden and across Europe, and undertook an extraordinarily popular concert tour of the United States beginning in 1850. (Source - Wikipedia).

Gouache painted on bone of Jenny Lind, not signed, with mother of pearl frame. In almost fine conditions! Same as the other miniature we have for sale. we spent a great deal of time researching whose portrait it was.
With frame measures 4.75"" X 3.8. Oval, without frame measures about 3.25"" X 2.25"". Small chip at the bottom."
