Brother Melvin Meyer, S.M. started teaching art at Central Catholic High School in San Antonio, Texas, in the 1950's and for a time at Chaminade Prep and McBride High. He finished at McBride in ‘57 and then went to Europe for a year to study art, covering 14,000 miles in nine countries on a motor scooter. As a talented young artist, he was selected to work with “Yoki” Aebischer in Fribourg, Switzerland and Jacques le Chevallier in Paris, France during 1958. In 1960, he earned his Masters degree at the University of Notre Dame, studying under internationally renowned artists Ivan Mestrovic and Jean Charlot. Brother Mel’s work not only reflects numerous travels, but also an ever-expanding ability to create art in a variety of media.
Pickup DetailsAfter completion of auction please contact Andrew Lee at 314-578-6751 between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm WITHIN 7 CALENDAR DAYS to arrange for in person pick up of your items. (Items not picked up within a 14 calendar day timeframe after the auction end day will be considered abandoned and you will still be charged in full.) You must bring sufficient help to move your items, including any tools required for disassembly or wrapping material and boxes, we do not provide these items. Condo is located on the 3rd floor of the building. There IS AN ELEVATOR, and almost all the furniture in the auction will fit in the elevator, but some items in auction will not fit in elevator and must be carried down four flights of stairs. Condo building is a secured building and require a code to enter. For most smaller items, we can meet at ground level to pick up your item during your scheduled time. Larger items, heavier items, some art and other items will need to be accessed from the Condo unit on the third floor. Bring sufficient help to move your items, we do not offer assistance or supplies.
