This is a striking handcrafted Vintage 18K Yellow Gold Wire Wrapped and Closed
Necklace featuring Graduated 'Apple Green Swirl' Round PEKING GLASS Faux
Jade marbles. High-quality necklace that probably dates back to the 1980's or
possibly the 1970's. It uses swirl colored Peking Glass with a unique Fine Gold
wire-wrapping technique. Each round marble is wire-wrapped between 2 gold dots
melted onto each side of the bead. This has the result of keeping each marble
relatively stationary inside its wrapping, plus the gold dots give this necklace a very
rich look. Each wire wrapped round marble has been carefully matched and linked
together in a graduated pattern. It's a closed necklace that has a nice fluid movement
to it. Good weight... not too heavy. Though it doesn't have a clasp, it should fit
easily over one's head.
It measures 29 inches from end to end and the smallest marble is approximately 6-7
mm in diameter ranging to the largest which are approximately 9-10 mm. high, 3/4
inches wide and 1/4 inch thick. It weighs 64 grams and I estimate that 24 grams of
it is gold.
This Necklace is in EXCELLENT to almost MINT condition with MINIMAL signs
of wear for its age.
