Possibly American and Maple wood, definitely 18th century made with all its original hardware and brass Escutcheons
It retains its original patina and does not show any refinishing. It is in very good condition but does show some veneer peeling and blemishes.
This is a very fine authentic piece that will add traditional elegance to your Georgian interior. No provenance except it came from a ship captain's estate.
Just needs someone to recognize this gem.
