Michelle was born in Munich, Germany where she met her husband John who was active in the State Department in post World War II Germany. They were married and moved back to Johns native Arizona in 1953. Michelle began her career in fashion shortly thereafter. After a short stint as sales person in a retail store, she opened her own store “Michelle’s”. She was one of the co-founders of Fashion Square.
