It is hand-numbered in pencil to the lower left margin “68/450”, and the artist’s penciled signature appears in the lower right margin, “SF”.

The undersides are marked “Sterling Silver” along with maker’s marks for Watson Company of Attleboro, Massachusetts. Total approximate weight, 6.32 ozt.

Alfred Morang (1901-1958) Watercolor Painting "Cat with Bowl": An original watercolor and ink painting, Cat with Bowl by well-listed American artist Alfred Morang (1901-1958). The ink and watercolor painting depicts one of the artist’s beloved cats, a favorite subject for which the artist was well known. The painting is signed to the lower right, "57 Alfred Morang. After contracting tuberculosis, Morang moved from Boston to Santa Fe, New Mexico in the late 1930s, hoping the dry climate would improve his health. He was a founding member of the Transcendental Painting Group, whose credo was to “defend, validate and promote abstract art.” The painting is presented with a white mat, under glass in a rustic gilded wood frame and is ready to hang. Information about the artist and the painting is affixed to the back of the frame.
