The technique is called "Polage"
(Polorized light collage)
It's based on the phenomenon that occurs when certain clear colorless materials are illuminated
With polorized light from behind.
And viewed through a polarizing filter.
This was an absolute short version of how I understand this piece of wonderful art was created.
The Artist Austine Wood passed away July of this year

This artwork is in a circular frame approx. 5ft around
And very well made.
