This an Awesome, Gorgeous Wooton Style Desk, made by the American Desk and Seating Company circa 1896 - 1905. This Desk has been in the family since the turn of the 19th to the 20th Century., passing from one family member who was head dietitian at Western Kentucky University in the 1920's and was also was related to Dr Willson Wood. She handed the Desk down to him. Dr. Willson Wood, who taught at Western Kentucky beginning with the 1940's and was appointed Head of the English Dept. in 1959 and served in that capacity through 1972, Dr Willson owned the desk until his death at 99 yrs of age in 1978. It was then passed down to the Roark family. Quite a provenance here!
