The Shipe Estate of Knoxville, TN

Betty Thurman Shipe and her husband Thomas F. Shipe were long time residents of Knox and Anderson County. Thomas, a native of Anderson County, was well known for his woodworking skills and fine craftsmanship. After retiring from the airline industry as a mechanic he started woodworking full time. Building fine furniture, cabinets and best known for his Grandfather Clocks made from locally grown hardwoods. His first wife, Helen, was an artist who while living in Washington State started painting scenes which included ashes from the Mt Saint Helen eruption. Two of such paintings are offered in this sale.
