Betsy King was absolutely awesome! My mother had just passed away after 91 years as a Florida resident. I live in Maryland and was searching for someone to handle her estate. When I met Betsy, my first impression was I could trust her with the keys to the home and I knew she was going to be diligent in going through everything in the house. I was not present for the actual estate sale since I live out of the state. But Betsy took care of everything down to the last detail, even the parking situation. She sold more than half of everything in the house (and there was a lot) and surprisingly kept selling even after the estate sale was over through websites and friends in the business of resale. She also recommended a wonderful ministry that I could donate any unsold items to if I so desired. And I certainly did. This was such a blessing to find someone that cared about you as a person and also an excellent business woman. I would highly recommend Betsy for your estate sale. I interviewed so many people before choosing Betsy, and am so glad I found her. She was amazing from the beginning to the end. Many companies charged more, and once you sign the contract, all content in your home is theirs. I was told numerous times I didn't have enough to warrant a sell. Boy were they wrong. I made over 3 times what I expected. Betsy was the only person willing to work with me on prices, allowing me to keep certain valuable items that did not, or may not sell. She looked up every questionably valuable item before pricing. If she couldn't find it she contacted people who were experts. She consulted with me every step of the way. I personally think her displaying of the home and the items for sale made the difference. There was no clutter. Items were set up to look like the customer was walking into a nice store. Thoughts to ponder before having a sale: how badly do you want to sell an item?; if you want to keep it DO SO; you may have paid thousands of dollars for an item many years ago, but unless you want to give it away at the end of the sale, be willing to negotiate a reasonable, and sometimes a ridiculously low, price to allow someone else to enjoy it. Watching your beloved items go is not easy, especially when buyers negotiate over prices. It's best to stay away during the sale and let Betsy handle it.
