This antique mantel clock features a dark wood casing with ornate brass (ormolu) mounts. The dial is white enamel with Roman numerals and decorative hands, enclosed by a brass bezel. The clock's body is embellished with intricate gilded brass appliques, including scrolling acanthus leaves, a central cartouche with a profile bust, and a larger relief of a classical head with flowing hair and foliage on the right side. Two turned wooden arms extend from the sides, terminating in decorative brass finials. The overall style suggests a French origin, likely from the mid-19th century, possibly in the Louis XVI or Neo-Classical revival style, characterized by its elaborate ornamentation and use of mixed materials. Dimensions: 28" Tall by 13" wide.
