These lamps often combined functional lighting with artistic expression, reflecting the tastes of the Victorian and Edwardian eras. Many were originally oil lamps that were later electrified for convenience and safety.
Interestingly enough the rooster was thought to symbolize prosperity amongst other things, we could all use a little more of that!
