Gorgeous pair of turquoise-green foo dogs, male and female, in perfect condition! These sculptures were made in the Wagongyao region of Shiwan (Stone Bay) in Guangdong Province between the early to mid-1900’s. The characters written on the mason’s brown stone stamps of the dogs are of an in-between style used from the Li to Zhuan periods - a writing style studied as an art.
