Antique Japanese Imari / Arita Porcelain Bowl with Carved Wood Stand – 9.5"
Beautiful antique Japanese Imari-style porcelain bowl, believed to date to the 19th century, likely late Edo to early Meiji period. This piece has been passed down through the owner's family and is now being offered as part of a Buffalo Grove estate sale.
The bowl features an elaborate scalloped rim and richly detailed decoration in traditional cobalt blue, iron red, green, white and gold. The interior is decorated with figural scenes, flowers, foliage, geometric patterns, and bird/phoenix motifs. Extensive gilt accents continue around the interior and exterior.
Includes the carved dark wood display stand shown in the photos.
