Up for auction is a beautiful antique 19th-century Victorian fish serving knife dating from the late 1800s. This piece beautifully exemplifies the Aesthetic Movement, a period defined by an emphasis on natural world themes and expert craftsmanship.

The Blade: Features stunning, highly detailed hand-engraved bright-cut artwork depicting two trout or salmon swimming upstream amidst freshwater river ferns and reeds. The upper edge is highlighted by an intricate geometric lattice and foliate border.

The Handle: Crafted with an elegant, carved bone or antique ivory-style handle boasting a detailed scrollwork cap piece.

The Ferrule/Collar: Features a decorative metal collar seamlessly joining the blade and handle.

Stamped on the lower left of the blade with the manufacturer's maker mark "GD & Co", followed by gothic pseudo-hallmarks.
