Stunning 2005 original abstract painting depicts a winged figure with a halo against a vibrant orange and yellow background. This artwork has a signature by the artist Lana Santorelli in the bottom right corner. The piece is enclosed in an ornate, gold-toned decorative frame. Original Gallery price on back of frame is $3,500.
Lana Santorelli is an American painter, abstract artist and art advocate known for her intuitive, emotion-driven approach to visual art. In addition to her personal studio practice, she is widely recognized as the founder of the Lana Santorelli Gallery, an influential space that supported emerging and non-mainstream artists during the mid-2000s and early 2010s.
Santorelli's artwork is defined by a vivid exploration of color, texture, mood, and atmosphere. Rather than relying on rigid, pre-planned techniques, she works highly intuitively, channeling raw emotions and her own life experiences directly onto the canvas.
As is the case with this work, when capturing figures, Santorelli focuses on movement, vulnerability, and a "free-floating" spontaneity, capturing the transient essence of a subject rather than a static, mapped-out portrait.
