A finely detailed, cast metal teapot modeled in the form of a recumbent elephant. The vessel features intricate relief work, including a decorative saddle blanket with traditional wave and cloud motifs, and a base embellished with floral patterns and bats—a symbol of prosperity in Chinese culture. The elephant's trunk serves as the spout, and the piece includes a matching removable lid with a spherical finial. The metal exhibits a warm, aged patina, consistent with vintage Chinese export metalware often produced in white metal or silver-plated alloys.
