Ended Persian early 20th century engraved tray

Take time to study the intricacy of design and fine detailed workmanship of this tray. It is quite different from the "tourist" trays that are made expressly for tourists, being larger and done executed more quickly with less required skill. As the paper tag on its back states "Persia, 1927", this tray predates World War II. It appears to be almost entirely floral, however, upon close inspection, you will discover birds among the serpentine line that delineates the 8 scalloped interior lobes. The rolled rim is separately applied, overall 23"d x 1-1/2"h. This tray is an exceptionally fine piece of craftsmanship, less than 2' diameter, excellent for use or for hanging.
