This model Inuit kayak was reportedly brought back from a missionary's trip to western Canada around 1910. It consists of animal skin, probably walrus, stretched and sewn over a wood frame, plus accoutrements. The kayak is approximately 22-1/4"l x 4-1/2"w. Accoutrements include a 10" x 3-1/2" sled, 10" harpoon with bone fleche tip attached by a line wrapped around the harpoon, 9-1/2" 2-prong fishing spear, 6-1/4" single blade paddle, 3-1/2" drying/tanning board on top plus three more stashed inside, being 5"l and tied together. Note two significant design elements of the kayak: (a) hole in front and (b) bracket angle in back. Also note the fine condition of the kayak itself, with no punctures or tears.
