Ended Bowl, Japanese red/black lacquer, three flowers

This rather large bowl, 3-3/8"h x 10-1/4"d, is marked on the bottom as made in Occupied Japan. The interior features three flowers of which two are grouped together having goldtone or silvertone outlines, the larger white flower composed of crushed eggshells, which is characteristic of a modern Korean tradition. The third flower "opposes" the pair, to achieve balance of one large and one small flower together juxtaposed by one of medium size. No chips or cracks detected.
