Ended Mirror or painting frame, carved wood

This was originally a mirror frame, reportedly from "The Oaks" estate on eastern shore Maryland, belonging to Hollywood actress and singer Florence George Crosby (married Bing Crosby's older brother and business manager), coming to us for sale from her granddaughter who tells us that it was over the fireplace there. It appears to be pine, overall 56"h X 52"w x 6"d (currently attached to a base board 56"l). It is a monumental artwork with elaborate carved detail in the triangular pediment continuing around the aperture. It appears to have never been painted or varnished and in very good condition. Note two metal hangers on the back corners of the rectangular portion for hanging. We temporarily set a painting of a sailing ship inside the frame to give you an idea of what the painting would look like in such a frame, also what the frame would look like with a painting in it.
