Not your average souvenir geisha doll! This is the most true-to-life geisha doll I've had the pleasure of seeing!
She has a soft fabric body with a hand-painted face. Her hair is a natural material, either silk or human hair. The hairstyle has held up very well and is decorated with a yellow mock-tortoiseshell kushi comb, a mock-tortoiseshell-and-coral tama-kanzashi hair stick, and a twisted metal tie.
She's wearing a real silk royal blue irotomesode kimono with an umbrella and flying insect motif. She's accessorized with a tartan obi belt tied in a plain knot, a pair of wooden geta, and a black, red, and white umbrella. The umbrella has seen better days, but the rest of her outfit is nearly immaculate.
The base measures 6" by 4.5" and her height is 15". The base is black lacquered wood. There is slight damage in one corner, shown in photo. This doll has no identifying marks.
