Ended LOT 6 - Louis XVI ornate gilding - upholstered chair

Each of the Louis XVI pieces is in very good condition and well taken care of.

Here's the provenance of Louis XVI furniture...

The Kroegers bought the estate called "Vouziers" in North St Louis in the late 70s.

"The mansion was called Vouziers (Voo-zee-ay) because Joseph Desloge, Sr., served in the French Army during WWI and was decorated for bravery near Vouziers, France. He built the mansion to look like a French chateau. The estate is now owned by the Boeing Aircraft Corporation, serving as a leadership training facility." http://usgennet.org/

Joseph Desloge actually moved every stone over from Vouziers France and all of the architectural components to recreate the chalet-style home. The furniture that we have came from France and was furnishings that existed in the house prior to Desloge having relocated it, so we believe it to be original Louis XV1, however, when Sotheby's looked at it a number of years ago, they were unable to verify that. It is most likely original given the story behind it.
