The brass mounting ring around the clock face is marked "May 10, 1859", making this clock some160 years old. It is still in good working condition, including the hour strike brass bell. The glass pane in front is original. The round white paper face is original and shows scraping/deterioration from years of moving the hands. The period pendulum simulates a mercury cylinder. There are minor veneer chips in the walnut ornamentation applied over chestnut. Note also some restoration to a lobe on the lower right end of the pediment. Overall the clock measures 23-1/8" high x 13-3/8" wide x 5" deep.
