Vintage (c1969) mid century Japanese ukiyo-e framed woodblock print

Beautiful mid century Japanese wood block print of bamboo stalks and leaves in the tradition of the ukiyo-e tradition.

Ukiyo-e[a] is a genre of Japanese art which flourished from the 17th through 19th centuries and is reprised in its form and format today. Ukiyo-e artists produce woodblock prints and paintings of such subjects as female beauties; kabuki actors and sumo wrestlers; scenes from history and folk tales; travel scenes and landscapes; flora and fauna; and erotica. The term ukiyo-e (浮世絵) translates as "picture[s] of the floating world".

This vintage woodblock is framed, under glass, in a beautiful carved bamboo design wood frame.
