One of a kind late Victorian period (c1890) intricately beaded evening purse w gold plate frame – probably made in Raj period India

Supreme elegance! This absolutely unique, Victorian era (c1890), highly intricate hand beaded evening purse was probably made in India during the Raj period (1858 – 1947).

The purse resembles the Maharani East Indian decorative style.

All original elements: made of beads and a gold plate frame with very beautiful dark purple cut glass decorative accents.

The purse has a snap-like closure.

The handbag is in excellent condition with few signs of wear. It is fragile and we recommend the purse for display only.

The intricate design frame is gold plate, hand wrought.

This is a perfect and extremely rare example of the high elegance of early evenings bags of a bygone era.
